A Story About Appreciation

RECOGNIZING ACHIEVEMENTS

I have a niece who is gifted with creativity. She could turn a recycle box into an improvise slippers. She can make a car toy out of cardboards. I remember the time when she turns a used gift card into an improvised school ID. She created a small bookshelf out of old cardboards so she could organize her books without buying an actual bookshelf. She invented a pop corn dispenser made of unused reusable plastic cup and cardboards for use on our movie time. She also made a coaster for glasses so she could use them when she has to bring her cup of milk while doing her assignments. Practically she can turn most of the recycle and reusable stuff into a useful daily tools or devices that could have been otherwise thrown away. For most cases, her newly built devices comes with sample manuals and instructions.

A Story About Self-Assessment

GIVE YOURSELF A HUG AND PAT YOURSELF ON THE BACK

It was 6:00p.m. already. I was on the road driving heading home from work. Usual traffic jam and it's only Wednesday. Red traffic light is on and it seemed forever. I wanted to go home early. A long day at work. Lots of meetings. Endless calls and appointment over the phone and in person. On the road, my mind is wandering with a lot of different things. I was thinking about my previous meeting. Strategizing for my next appointments for next week. Thinking about what better financial assistance options I would be able to offer to my clients. Wondering what I would be getting for dinner. Thinking about skipping my dinner, again. Thinking about my modules for my Financial Planning Courses. Recalling which page I was on the last time. Suddenly, I started to reminisce memories of life in Singapore. I wanted to take a day off at work but I would not. Thinking how difficult this pandemic has been for everyone. COVID-19 – was the worst season ever in the entire history perhaps. We're getting busier everyday.

A Story About Calmness, Patience and Respect

WHY WOULD I WAIT?

Have you ever been in any of these situations before?

  1. You waited in a queue for so long in a grocery store when paying for your items.

  2. You experienced waiting for a long queue in the coffee shop where it really felt like forever to prepare the same coffee you had been ordering for decades at the same coffee shop.

A Story About Reconnecting the Gap and Staying Connected

A SIMPLE NUDGE and A KIND WORD

During my time, we were only able to send out messages through a conventional physical mail to our loved ones living abroad and to those who lives in a distant place. Waiting time before the recipients receive their letter could take around a month or two sometimes. So when we have something to say on the letter, we might as well ensure we've got every details written down. Be it about having a new house, or or new partner, what we did last summer, wedding plans. Anything whether it's good or bad.

A Story About Gratitude and Gratefulness

A GOOD SAMARITAN

I live in the capital of British Columbia - Victoria, where the temperature has an average daily high and low that are about 8 and 4 degree Celsius, respectively (from what I experienced). Summer days are relatively mild compared to other city in Canada with an average of low and high temperatures which is about 11 to 20 degree Celsius, respectively. Victoria has the perfect weather (at least for me). No city in the British Columbia or any provinces in the country comes close to my city (I think no one will argue on this - I am happy to share a separate and a dedicated article more about Victoria (wink).

A Story About Courage

HOW IT ALL STARTED..

I had been thinking and planning to establish my own blog site for years now but I would always have lots of “reason” to hold up. On some occasions, I would sit down to do my research. Literally preparing my pens, highlighters, notes and my word application. Writing down all the important details that I can gather as much as I could. Letting my creative skills assist me on the design of my own websites. I would compute the budget and costs related. My mind would generate so much idea all at once. I even subscribed to multiple blog sites to help me ensure that I will be getting the latest updates from the experienced bloggers. Also, ensuring that I would not overlook some of the basics, hope not. But regardless of all of my effort in the past, the end result was the same. The cycle would stop at such point where doubts and fear will overpower my decision making resulting to short circuiting my ability to think. Followed by my bunch of excuses “again” dreading me to take a break, re-think and re-consider the consequences. Effectively delaying my plans. Mind you, when I say that I would be taking a break that would meant months of not doing any progress and that took years.
